 | | Mary Beth Fisher | Mary Beth Fisher will star in the solo show, The Year of Magical Thinking, written by Joan Didion, and based upon her acclaimed memoir. Charles Newell will direct the production at the Court Theatre, January 14- February 14.
The play is a loose adaptation of Didion's book about her bereavement over the death of her husband of 39 years, John Gregory Dunne, in 2003 and the subsequent death of their daughter, Quintana Roo Dunne.
Fisher received Lucille Lortel and Drama Desk nominations for her performance in Boy Gets Girl, with other New York credits including Frank's Home, The Night of the Iguana, and Extremities. Her Chicago credits include The Little Dog Laughed, Spinning Into Butter, and Rock 'n' Roll, for which she received a Jeff nomination.
