Synopsis
The 2009 Philadelphia Gay and Lesbian Theatre Festival will be celebrating its seventh season with staged productions of works by Jon Hartmere and Damon Intrabartolo, Paula Vogel, and Tom W. Kelly.
Bare: A Pop Opera (June 11-26), created by Jon Hartmere and Damon Intrabartolo, is set in the last semester of senior year at St. Cecelia's High School, where Peter and Jason wonder if the judgmental world they live in can accept and embrace their love.
Paula Vogel's And Baby Makes Seven(June 17-26) centers on Anna, Ruth, and Peter, who await the arrival of their newborn child, but first they must rid the crowded apartment of their three imaginary children.
Friends are Forever (June 19-27) by Tom W. Kelly follows three couples as they explore friendship, love, fidelity, and infidelity as well as the occasionally awkward repercussions. Friendships are humorously tested when indiscretions and secrets are unexpectedly exposed.
The festival will also feature two cabaret performances from the cast of Friends are Forever (June 13), and the cast of Bare: A Pop Opera (June 20), as well as a staged reading of Dunkler-Related Disorders by James Magruder.
